the 240 ci in my truck is very tired , i want to know if a 302 ci will hook up to the 3 speed manual trans???
will the 6 cyl flywheel work???
the 302 i have is out of a 77 f-150 does that make any differance???

I don't think the flywheel will work at all but the tranny will bolt right up to a 302/351W

The 240/300 flywheel will bolt up to the 302 but the balance will be all wrong. Small blocks use a 28oz. imbalance up to '81.

ok so it has to come off a 302 /standard, or will a auto flywheel work???

Automatics don't have a flywheel, they have a flexplate. Completely different. A flexplate is basically just a thin piece of metal that acts as a coupler between the crankshaft and the torque converter.

What's funny is the MPC calls them all flywheels.

has anyone heard the word pressure plate instead of flywheel. thats how i've learn to refer to the difference between auto and standard.

Pressure plate is what bolts to the flywheel, with the clutch plate sandwiched in between...
