Sanderson Shorty Headers

Post by RangerRat »

How easy is it to install the Sanderson shorty headers on an FE engine? I know long tubes can be a lot of work. Will the shorty's go in from the top? Will the motor have to jacked up or anything like that?

I put mine on while the front clip was off so I'm going by what I see now. The passenger side should be pretty easy but the drivers side has the booster and master cylinder in the way.

Put them on the 68's 390, (Camper Special), while motor was in the truck. All I had to do was change steering gears, (for clearance), from a 72 due to the bulge on the side of the 68's .
Had to go from a Bendix to a Saginaw. (think I got that right. lol)
Had the headers on for a while now with no problems and I love them.

Driver side from the bottom. Passenger side from the top. Went in great! Fit like a glove. Now to just get everything finished on the motor and fire it up.
