Ford 300 Engine Replacement
I have a 1965 Ford F-250 with the original Ford 300 L6. The motor is beyond repair, can I replace it easily with a 1981 300, carbureted engine? Are all the bolt holes and dimensions the same? Thanks, Tim

I'm pretty sure it is an easy drop in.
Even a fuel injected 300-six.
Have you checked out this site for the inline-6?

Re: Ford 300 Engine Replacement
I did this exact thing to my 66 F250. I found a carbureted 300 out of an 80's pickup. I used the intake and carb setup that was on my '66's busted engine and put it on the "new" engine. A local shop did the actual install. I talked to the mechanic afterwards and he told me it was a direct bolt in.
