Power Steering and Column Upgrade Questions

Post by themoldfords »

I upgraded to front discs with power steering from a 78 F100 to my 69 F100. I also used the 78 column in my transplant. I got all the steering components into place and went to bolt up the column when I noticed I had to pull the wheel up a few inches to get her to bolt in. Upon further inspection I noticed that the angle on the box looks different than the angle on the column. I have been searching the forums for someone else that may have had this issue without any luck. I'm not sure what I did wrong, can anyone help me out?

Thanks!!
Tim

did you rob the power steering flange off the 78? It's a must to have along with the other parts. It's mounted to fire wall under hood. It will have the words "power steering" embossed on it. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... racket.jpg

Yep. Got the complete column with the bracket. I'll snag some pictures this weekend.

I was WRONG!!! I thought for sure I had robbed the P/S column bracket off the '78, but apparently I did not. I was lucky however, and snagged one at my local junk yard, along with these. Thanks for the help.
