should i put a cheapy filter on the low pressure line after i plug in the new power steering pump, run it briefly after bleeding, then remove the filter? do any of yall run a filter on your power steering?
the lines blew out on the power steering on the f250. i replaced both lines. 2 months later the compression line blew out again. i retightened the line. 24 hours later the bearings in the power steering pump went kapoop. the pump is deffinitely bad. it is screaming like a banshee and when i did the last adjustment on the line i added fresh fluid which was once clear but is now muddy.
i am worried that the pump may have compromised the steering box. the truck still turns fine. i have to put about 10 more miles on the bad steering pump while i source parts and errands. i have no choice. everything i own is breaking down.
doing timing cover gasket put that off way too long) and wheel cylinder on f100 and power steering pump on f250 tomorrow
