re: Trailer Hitch Question

Not sure what you meant by "extendable" but my 72 C/S has a barden bumper and the auxiliary tank, it is a long bed and the tank comes nowhere near where the hitch is mounted. The hitch I have on mine is a DrawTite 75034. From a quick search of the web they run around $125.

Thanks, the rear bumber pulls out for extended campers. Interesting setup but it only has a few bolts to tighten down to hold it into place so you can't pull anything with it. I may put some kinda pins or something in it so I can pull with it 'case I need to pull someone out of the ditch.

After several attempts to install a 73-79 class III on Jethro I finally got smart and ordered one from JC Whitney for about $100. I do beleive that it's a Draw-tite and it bolted up like it was made exactly for it (go figger?)!
Of course I upgraded to all grade 8 hardware...

Can't say for sure on yours, but they WERE a factory option on the Camper Specials. I've got some literature around here somewhere that shows them, I'll see if I can track that down.

Mine is definitely after market and has two set screws on each side. However, my uncle used it to tow his boat. I am thinking about drilling the rails so I can through bolt it.
