Hello to all,
I have a 67 F100 SWB she runs good with the built 390 and t-10 4 speed but i'm thinking about a Gear Vendors OD unit, does anyone have experience with this set up?
It looks great on paper but i'm wondering how good it is in the real world, The OD is really expensive and i need some input before i lay out that kinda cash. Thanks
Gear Vendors OD any thoughts?

Re: Gear Vendors OD any thoughts?
I looked into this for my ton truck. For my application it is not quite as great. If you are wanting to split gears i.e 1st 1st over 2nd, 2nd over, etc will not enguage till about 25-28 mph. I think installation and the product are good. I think the fluid has to be changed about every 3000 miles or so and is a synthtic type fluid. I am wanting it to split gears and have overdrive. For me the advance adaptors ranger overdrive unit is the way to go. I have debated this alot but with 4 ton on the truck I want to split gears if possible. For just a driver/ fun/ drag type veh the gear vendors is likely they way to go. Also from my reading there is a slight delay when it shift and can be pretty firm as I dont think you have to clutch it. I have looked into alot of different overdrives options for my application/useage and could have jumbled some information up. But is still a good option and I think a good product. Hope this helps. I dont know how a 5 or 6 speed compairs in price it would only be one unit to service vs 2 with the gear vendors and I dont know about driveshaft setup/lenght with a 4 speed and overdrive vs a later/newer 5 or 6 speed tranie.

I spoke yesterday without ready that you had a f100. What gears do you have in truck now? How do you use truck? I would never have any thing lower than 3.00-3.25 gear in a driver especially with a 390. My buddy is working on a unibody and they added a 390 4 speed and it screams on the hwy. It has factory 3.90 something gears in it!
