Yea, I doubt I'd ever get one because of the price. But it looks damn good man. If I would end up getting one id wait ill my interior is painted so I don't have to double wire. Either that or Id make hook ups. But it looks good man. How does the spedo hook up, I would think you would have trouble? From a manual one?

Well, I have already sanded and painted the dash...just have to paint the back side of the cab now...Dakota sends a nice sender for the transmission that has a little part that your stock speedo gear fits on and they have a small inner square piece of cable that goes into that and and electrical sender that screws over that so the gear spins the square cable piece which in turn spins the electrical senderJMcTurnan wrote:Yea, I doubt I'd ever get one because of the price. Re: New addtion to 72 F100 interior
Ok now I am jealous. I also spent the big bucks and bought the same set-up. Only my truck is in pieces right now so the best I could do is set it up on the bench
I think it is a very cool set up overall and I am glad I made the purchase. The one thing I don't like is how the original hole in the cluster where the odometer was does not have anything digital behind it. I also bought the electronic gear position sensor and was hoping that it would display my gear position at all times in that hole while driving. I guess that is what happens when I don't do my homework.
Cool project, keep up the great work!!

Thanks! Yeah,I wondered the same thing...Initially I had the digital cluster behind the bezel without the black middle piece...It did not look well and did not screw in well, so I added the black piece back...Let me know how hard the gear indicator is to install.dantheman71 wrote:Ok now I am jealous. So how does it hook up? The 72 has the printed circuit on the back correct? What about installing one in a 67 that has the plug and no printed curcuit?

It will go right in...all you have to do is figure out what wires are you turn signals, high beam indicator and any other indicator lights you want to use...no problemsred403 wrote:So how does it hook up? So how has your dash been since you installed it? how well can you see it during the day? How open is the area where the odometer used to go on the back side? I think that would be a great place for something I have in mind. Ive bought this and cant wait to get home and play with it.
