SHE'S LEANING

Post by peanutman »

Well i can't just leave well enough alone. Was noticing that my truck is sitting a little lower on the driverside front vs the passengerside front. My cab and frame bushings look good and i don't see a break in the spring. Is maybe my spring sprung :?
I have been reading some post about different lenth springs on the front and do these trucks have a tendacy to site low on this side due to weight or something :?

it could just be a weak spring or bad shock. the rubber mounts for the cab don't have to look bad to be squished too far to let it sag either. if the bed and cab bump line up then its probably a weak spring or shock.

:yt: . I have to agree with him. I'd think shocks first thing. If not that, I'd figure a spring.

Most likely a spring issue as the shocks have nothing to really do with ride height unless the shock is froze up, just my :2cents: . :D

That's what i was thinking, a shock really has no weight support values. Unless it's an air or spring shock.

fomocoguy wrote:Bad shocks will cause the front end to sit slightly lower than normal. They do have a slight amount of pressure in them. This is why when you install them you have to compress them some, then fight to get them in the right place before they stretch back out and mess you all up. I've been lieing on my back with a shaky arm trying to compress the darn things enough times to know this for sure!
Those are “Nitrogen or Gas Charged Shocks” they are pressurized with nitrogen gas, and are pretty standard now days for any good quality shock, but normal shocks (like came on our old trucks) don’t have this, they are just hydraulic shocks and will not effect the ride height any…

FYI. The Gas Charge helps keep the hydraulic oil in the shocks from foaming as easy, so the shocks work better over long stretches of bumpy conditions where the shock is doing lots of action. When the oil in the shock foams then it won’t work at restricting its movement like it is supposed to, as the foamy oil (air bubbles in it) flows past the restriction valve inside it easier then just straight oil does. :2cents:
