took something off my steering column i shouldn't have..help

Post by oldschoolrods »

Hey guys, I was removing my steering column last night and when it came time for the wiring, i took the piece of the column off that the turn signal switch mounts to (thinking it plugged in back there and not by the floor) however now I can't get that little hub back on, there is 2 little square bolts that I think are supposed to slide over something but I can't figure out where. Please help thanks.

on edit: its an automatic column

are those bolts supposed to go into those little squares cut out on the metal tube?

Yep, they just grab the edge.
I think what I did last time was start the nuts 1st, the put the hub in place. Easiest if the column is out of the truck and standing strait up. The square of the stud falls right in place, then tighten them up.
