Heat riser spacer when running a carb spacer

Post by Ohiotinkerer »

I finally came up with a good fix for closing the gap between the heat riser and snorkel on the air cleaner if you're running a 1" phenolic spacer. I went dumpster diving at work and found a bunch of pieces of 3" exhaust pipe that came off the engines that we power some of the pumps we build and did a test fit on the air cleaner and it's a perfect match for the od of the bottom of the snorkel where it sets into the heat riser!

Here's the finished piece next to what I found to use.......

Shot of it on the truck......Almost looks factory!

Dimensions for it if anyone wants to make one....

OD 3"
ID 2.855"
Length 1.560

I did turn mine to length on a lathe since I'm a machinist and had access to the stuff to do it but you wouldn't have to be as OCD as I am..................thought I would share this since this subject has came up before!
