352 with duraspark distributor

Post by towtruckerfour »

Hey guys. Looking for some help with my 352. I have a 352 engine in my 70 f250 with a duraspark setup from a 76 390. The problem I'm having is the exhaust is popping like a cylinder is not firing or something. Checked plugs and wires and they are firing. Cap and rotor are new. Timing is in the ballpark. What I found last night is with the vacuum advance hose plugged, the engine runs smooth like it should. Plug the hose back on the vacuum advance and it goes back to popping. Maybe bad vacuum advance? I tried sucking on the hose and the plate moves so not sure. I'm also wondering maybe bad pickup assy or something? The motor will run just not great. Any help is appreciated.
