Are you sure it's a 302 because that wasn't offered in a bump until 1969..........

Consider an electric fan. Shroud is built in. And no exposed, whirling nightmare to injure yerself or damage tools on. Slightly increased mpg's. Quieter operation so you can hear the radio. Or have a conversation with a passenger without yelling.
If the cooling system is in good shape, I've found that a fan isn't needed as long as the vehicle is moving at least 15-20 mph.
Our trucks have a large frontal area. This helps alot with natural airflow to the radiator. Unlike modern, more aerodynamic vehicles.

Mr Ian, I agree with Mr Ren about an electric fan with a shroud.
You can get one from the junk yard, just have to look at the shape of the shroud.
I believe some have used Ford Taurus fans and shroud, not sure what years.
You can also get a Flex-O-Lite Black Magic Extreme .
I have one on my 93 5.0 Mustang and I put one on my 72 truck as well , it has a 429 but I don't see any reason it would not work on your truck as well.
It comes with everything needed to hook it up including the shroud, electric fan, wiring, adjustable thermostat switch control.
I adjusted switch to come on at 195*.
It is very easy to install.
Check before you order but I THINK it is model 185 ( I am not sure if that is the correct #) , it is the one for 1979-1993 Mustang, 15" S blade fan, 3,300cfm.
My fan only comes on if I sit in traffic or long periods of idling or pulling a heavy load.
Good luck which ever way you decide to go.
