Name This Engine

Post by rustylightning61 »

Gonna post some pics, is it an FE? Y block?

What family, size, your confidence percentage, and an explanation why

If someone can tell me where the casting numbers are I will be able to post them this weekend after people have guessed

If it's an FE, there will be a "352" cast into the block (doesn't matter the displacement; they all have the "352" cast into the block). Assuming it's an FE, rotate it to TDC. Pull the plugs on #1 (top of stroke) and #4 (bottom of stroke). Stick a dowel to the top of the pistons, and measure the delta. I don't remember the numbers, but you can google it. The 352 and 360 share the same stroke, but the 390 has a taller stroke. If you can't google it, post the numbers, and someone here will pipe in.

As far as guessing, no guess.
