1971 ford sputters and dies

Post by Youngster71 »

So my 1971 ford f250 with a 360 (5.9) drives great but sputters out after driving it for most of the day then dies and won't start for like 20 minutes. I just put a new carburetor, ignition coil and fuel pump in it. But it still does it. I can't figure out why. Does anyone know how to fix it

search posts on fuel line vapor lock. sounds like could be your issue. has to do w temp in the fuel lines between pump and carb. also make sure you have a phenolic space between your carb and the intake manifold. i'm sure others with more experience will chome in with some other thoughs and details shortly...
