1971 Carb / Choke Options

Post by Lakeview »

At some point the original carb on my 71 F250 360 2 barrel was replaced. I assume it was an auto lite 2100. Does any know if 2100 came with the climatic choke only or was an electric choke an option also in 1971.

+1 on what Mach428 said. This is my first one, but I have done a tone of research to get rid of the poorly added/modded to manual choke system on mine. The heated thermal choke is the norm. Electric choke is available out there as an aftermarket add-on now though. I went back to thermal instead of the electric option. Just a preference on that.

Had the manual choke (which you can buy off the shelf at your parts store and add on if you choose that route) on mine not been so poorly installed and kinked, I probably would have stayed that route.
