Swaybars and power steering opinions needed.

Post by mulletmobile »

I have access to a 1973 f250 2wd camper special with front and rear swaybars on it. The front end also has the factory Dayton disc brakes on it. If I took the whole front suspension, would this be a a good choice? The rear swaybar looks to just bolt on around the rear axle with clamps and could easily go from this truck to mine I think.

Need opinions before the guy has the salvage yard come take it away and I lose them.

Mine is a 1971 F250, 2wd with power drums and no power steering. I could easily yank the column and all the parts I would need from this truck too. Any/all opinions welcome.

So there was some issues, the salvage guy beat me to it. Now I can buy the full front suspension from that guy but he wants $300 for the whole front. I think at this time I will just pull the radius arms and the sway bar for the $50 he offered for that. A lot of stuff I may need to rebuild and or replace for that money. I am going to buy the rear swaybar too as that was $35.

He has three 16.5x9.75 wheels for it but its $120 for them. Seems steep. I like the idea of original style wheels, but I am holding out to find 16". Easier to get the tires for those. What wheels am I looking for to fit the 8 lug and drum brakes?
