390 Value

Post by iplumb »

Hello All,
I have a quick question and was looking to get some feedback.
I have a 1969 SWB and am getting ready to replace the entire driveline and suspension.
I am looking to sell the motor and trans as a complete unit.

My question is... what kind of money do you think it is worth? I am looking to list it on craigslist while still in the truck.
Here is more info:
Rebuilt 2000 miles ago, RV Cam
Holley Street Dominator manifold
New Edelbrock Carb and Air Cleaner
New Alternator
Headers
Starter
Water pump - fan, distributor, wires etc
Bellhousing, Clutch TO Bearing
1967 Ford WR Toploader from a mustang
With shifter

Basically a complete running unit

I have a new Coyote and a Tremec T56 just waiting to be installed this winter.

Thanks,
Mike

Do you have paper work for the machine work and the parts bill?
Is the trans a BB or SB...car or truck bell housing
What heads were used?
What bore is the block?
How much has the crank been turned?
Upgraded rod bolts?
What Cam?
Points or electronic ignition?

Way to many variables to give an accurate value

To some .....the Edelbrock carb is worthless to others it is gold

All great questions - I wish I had the answers to them all.
I just put it on Craigslist - I took a guess at the value.
I will see what shakes out.
Thanks for the reply.

Location also helps to determine value
You might want to edit your profile to include it

Do you already have headers for your coyote engine?

Tnlprt,
Thanks for the tip - I edited my location.
The coyote came with one factory manifold, and I bought the other off eBay. Matter of fact - I now have an extra passenger side because I bought a set.
I put the combo on craigslist for $2950. Got a couple of calls and one appointment to look at it later in the week.

Your engine/tranny, just my two cents. With all you've described, if you're offered over $2K, take it.

Great news - sold the motor alone for $2500
Re listed the four speed for $750
I will see what happens.
