1972 Ford F100 360

Post by KulpFarm »

Hello,

I have a 1972 Ford F100 with 360 motor in it. I tried searching the forum but the search function isn't the greatest and keeps timing out.

Can someone please point me to a vacuum diagram? Seems like the previous owner bypassed and capped a few lines that I would love to correct.

Thanks in advance! :fr:

Had to load pictures here since it said files are too big

Photo 1: open two port vacuum in back right side near cylinder head
Photo 2: open port from top left side of carb
Photo 3: open vacuum line that starts on back side of intake manifold. If unplugged, it stalls out motor.
Photo 4: vacuum advance goes from distributed to side of carburetor just below the auto choke

Carb is Motorcraft D2TFAB, not stock air filter.

Thank you in advance for any help

Start here:

And here:

http://fordification.com/tech/schematics_e.htm

That looks like mostly Transmission Regulated Spark System...

It isn't a CA truck is it?

OK, dizzy need to be jumped 1 tooth CCW. Vacuum can should point straight ahead. Hose for vacuum advance looks to be routed correctly.

Hose with bolt is probably for a vacuum gauge and used to tune the carb. Other stuff by the choke goes to the manifold to bring heated air to help open the choke plate.

I have no idea what the first pic with the finger is of.

Yep the contraption bolted to the head is Transmission Regulated Spark.

You probably don't want to hook it all back up, unless it is a requirement or is a restoration.

I would follow Jamie's advice and plug the rest of it off with proper vacuum caps.

THANK YOU ALL,

I guess my motor stumble is related to the dizzy being a tooth out. I'll jump it back in,one and check the timing

Thanks again
