For the most part this would be for the site admin guys.
Is there a description of what the steps are for replacement of the Power Steering gearbox ?
1. With a Pitman arm remover (I have one), remove the Pitman arm.
2. Disconnect the rag joint.
3. Remove the Pressure and Return lines (plan to replace these also) from the power steering box.
4. Tie off the unit and remove the three retaining bolts.
Install new / reconditioned unit in reverse order.
Sounds too easy. What do I need to watch out for ? Like how do I know the selector shaft is in the correct position, ect ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Power Steering Gearbox replacement
It's the shaft that the Pitman arm attaches to. There is an image of an exploded gearbox here @ Fordification. I don't have a link to provide.

Hopefully the Hemmings link below will work from here.
You'll see a large image and under that is a thumbnail, click on it.
The Schmatics here at Fordification provides a great image, but lists part number not nomenclature.

Re: Power Steering Gearbox replacement
First a correction to an earlier post. It's a "Sector Shaft" not Selector Shaft.
Wishing now I'd attempted to loosen the large Sector Shaft (1 5/16") nut, keeping the Pitman arm in place, FIRST. I can not budge the nut, even with the breaker bar. Now I have a few things to put back together before I can drive it.
So once again I'm forced to punt to the Shop down the street that has the pneumatic tools. They did a great job on the getting all of the rubber bushings and King pins installed. They kept the truck at no charge, the four days it took me to get the Axles, Radius and Steering Arms cleaned up and painted before Re-assembly. Doubtless they'll have this job done in an hour or so.
