Brake Booster/ Brake Pedal Rod Firewall Cover

Post by dhash0226 »

Hey there, new to the forum and I need help finding or figuring out a part. I am trying to go through a 1968 f100 that was given to me, and I want to see it run and drive. So I'm starting out with the brake system first. My question is, mounted on the firewall is a black or clear plastic cover with foam inside that the brake booster rod goes through to the brake pedal. I kinda broke that piece. I can use it but if I can find that piece new I would prefer to replace it. I have looked everywhere. Any thoughts or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I found a number on it it reads, upd 73 1 2505498. Thank you.

Oh I see, if u can't find it in the parts books autokrafter, LMC, MAC, or obsolete ford then they make not reproduce em. My truck didn't have one when I got it and does fine without it.

Are u upgrading your booster and MC?

That is what I'm thinking as well, they aren't reproducing it any longer. However from performance online I found something very close, so I'm waiting for it to show up. Will let you guys know if it works! Thank you for your help. Craigerf100 I'm just replacing the master cylinder for now, I didn't need to take off the booster but I wanted to paint it and clean it up. It's sat for the last 15-20yrs so replacing the master and going through the brakes to make sure everything looks good and nothing was stuck from sitting. Then off to motor to see if it starts!
