Steering column?

Post by 67shorty »

Just had the auto column out, shaved the shift ear off smooth ( went to floor shift) and wondering do I have to install the shift tube back ? Is that the only purpose it serves, to shift?

Pretty much. However, the lever on the bottom of the column also operates the backup light switch and the shift tube operates the NSS, if you have one.

Thanks, I already have a separate switch for back up lights and no NSS...
