CV swap, how to get it lower

Post by 1933Ford »

Help me out, just did a CV swap on a 69 F100.

thanks to the forum, I had NO issues, however I can't find anything about the lowering it

currently with NO motor or trany my frame is @ 15" high. I want to get it a couple inches lower.

has anyone CUT the coils to lower it?

if so HOW much did you cut to get any result.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL

There is a thread in project updates on a member that went from long bed to short bed and a CV front suspension. I followed what he did. I cut 3/4 of a coil off to drop an inch. I don't have my truck together yet to see the affects of it but you can on his. Seems like the title of the thread is long bed to short. It's a hot rod black truck with some really nice raceline wheels on it.

Lowering coils are available in the aftermarket. .. and engineered with the correct spring rates- at least for a CV.
