I'm looking to upgrade and lower my 68 Stepside. I want modern suspension, steering and brakes with a lowered stance but I still want the ability to use the truck when I have stuff I need to haul. I plan on going Mustang II and 4 Link kits, my question is will the Ride Tech Shockwave allow me to haul stuff when I need to? I can't seem to get a straight answer from Fatman, Hiedts and I've sent 3 messages direct to RT. The only comment FM will make is that it's a "Hotrod" suspension, not a truck suspension.
I don't know anything about air ride but I would assume my truck would have a higher load capacity than the QA1 coilovers because those are basically car suspensions.

Ridetech has several trucks with air ride. Should be fine there. Using a truck and hauling something very heavy are to different things. As far as the hardware, fatman has a bumpside with mustang II stuff. Again should be fine. Ridetech offers a 4 link as well. You could always go Crown Vic for the front. Those are proven tough. It just all depends on what you mean by using a truck. I am building mine with the crown vic plus lowering springs and flipped a explorer rear for the back plus a c notch so I am down 6 in the front and 5 inches in the back. I still plan on using mine as a truck but I don't haul things super heavy either. You just need to define how you will be using your truck.

Asking what I'm going to use the truck for is akin to me asking what you will be eating for lunch the next 5 years. 
Fatman is basically saying their kits are car suspensions for trucks. The coilovers in the rear are only rated to carry the weight of the bed, no cargo.
I'm just trying to find out if the air ride will help me maintain a truck suspension and if it will carry extra weight. Seems to be that there should be a cargo weight number of some sort.

I know this is a reply to an old post and you may have solved this problem already.
That said, The Dominator 2500 and 2600 air bags are rated at 2500 and 2600 lbs each.
Granted that is the likely the max. I think a pair of those will get you where you want as long as you run shocks and you can increase the air pressure depending upon the payload. A half ton pick up is "maxed out at 1000 lbs over vehicle weight. I have a half ton f100 and I plan to run the 2500 bags in the rear and Shock wave air struts in the front with the crown vic front suspension and The CV four link rear.
