I upgraded my 69 with power steering from a 78 f150.
Will the steering column support from a 1978 or any later 1970's truck bolt up at the firewall to my truck. I didn't realize my original wouldn't work and now need to find something that will.
Thanks.

Re: steering column support
Should work, functionally. Only question is the holes where it bolts to the firewall. Might need redrilling.

Re: steering column support
Does anyone have a power steering column support for sale that would work on my 1969 with 1978 steering box.

Re: steering column support
Do you have your old manual steering support? It should work with the '78 column with a little modification. The only significant difference between the non p/s bracket and the p/s bracket is the angle at which the "trough" sits on the column housing. The bolt holes should line up. Loose bolt it up there, rest it against the column housing, determine the gap that needs to be increased or closed up, not the base of the "trough" and weld it back together. Might have to patch in a couple of little plates if you're bending it "up". In the pic below, the manual support is on the left, the p/s support is on the right. You can see that the bolt holes just about match. The longer bottom flat section shouldn't matter. You just need to adjust the part that actually touches the column housing.
