manual steering box leaks

Post by Blooeffie »

Hello All,
My 1970 is running fine. I have been tinkering away at it and it is fun to drive. I recently had new tires installed and it has made all the difference in the ride and ease of steering! I had been considering a power steering upgrade, but the new tires have made such an improvement it will not be neccessary. The only problem with my current setup is the fact that the manual steering box leaks. My first plan of action is to ask you all for suggestions. You have always pulled through with great advice and I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Replace the seals, or pack it with grease. :2cents:

Clean it up, new seals and new gaskets.

Don't want to hijack this thread but I have a 72 with a leaky steering box, can I buy a seal kit or rebuild kit anywhere?
