CV front end on a F250???

Post by oldmopars »

I have not found this yet. Can you install a Crown Vic front end on an F250? Are the frames the same other than the thickness of the steel used? Is the frame taller? How much? Wider?
I know I would have to change the rear also, but can it be done?

If swapping front and rear ends, it really doesn't matter whether the subject vehicle is a F100 or F250. Same Same, framewise. It's the suspension, steering, and brakes that are vastly different.

OK, great. That is what I needed to know. I can find lots of F250 trucks in great shape, but very few F100/F150. Because I have a newer F.I. 5.0L and want to use a CV front end, I figure swapping the rear would be needed anyway. So this opens my options up a lot.

For the rear, consder swapping in an MN-12 independent rear suspension from the mid-90s t-bird n cougars. It's trick... and different.
