Rear Leaf Spring Hangers for 1969 F-250 2WD

Post by oldfarmall »

Hello-

Anyone know where I can find new rear leaf spring hangers for my 1969 Ford F-250 2WD pickup truck? I have looked online everywhere with no luck. Have to hit some old salvage yards next, but I doubt those hangers if I torched them off the frame would be in much better condition. Seems places only list for 1980 and newer Ford trucks. One just rotted away this week and the other is about there too. This is my old farm truck that I am trying to keep alive. We have had it since 1977. Would hate to see it go to the scrap man. Thanks!

Front or rear hanger? I'm guessing rear, but for the front hanger, you can try to call DJM or AIM, Airbagit, etc. and talk to them about making one for you that is not lowered. They are the only places that I know of that offer the frame hanger. They are not going to be factory, but they will fit and function fine. Otherwise a junk yard is the only option I know of. A careful torch will not harm them and drilling or grinding the rivets off is also an option. Only the rivet heads need to come off, and they can be punched through the frame or left alone on a parts truck. Replace the ones on your truck with Grade 8 bolts and you will be fine.

Thanks for the reply Guhfluh. I kind of figured a junk yard will be my best bet. I think I know of a few I can check. What is DJM and AIM? Thanks!
