flipping front spring perch on rear spring

Post by kool patina »

This is all new to me as far as flipping the front rear spring perch on the rear spring assembly....as far as when I set vehicle on jack stands, does the front spring bolt have to be removed or loosened when rotating the perch? When I cut off the factory rivets that hold perch to frame, is there going to be a lot of tension on them if I do not need to remove eye hole spring bolt? After flipping the front perch, is it easier to raise axle with floor jack to reposition perch mounting holes? Any help appreciated!

Couple of threads with some examples. 2nd one has a good pinion angle discussion. Last has good pic of locating hanger in a "half flip" scenario.
