trying to make 70 ranger xlt door panels fit on a 71 custom

Post by dwpave »

I have a 71 custom with steel door panels. I have the blue door panels from npd. I know that there is a piece of trim that goes around the outer part. How do you get or what do you have to buy to get 70 xlt door panels to work. DWPAVE

the outer ring mounts to a steel door panel under the vinyl.

the steel panel underneth is the same steel panel you have now, but has 9-12 1/4" holes in it around the edges for the trim ring mounting clips.

my Custom Cab has the trim rings around the door panel so you might look at Custom Cabs as doner.

my old panels were falling apart, but it seemed that the trim ring held the outer edge of the vinyl/padded part to the steel panel and the arm rest and inside door handle held the vinyl/padded part to the steel panel in the middle.

Thanks for the help where do you think you can get extra clips for the trim ring ? I already have the trim ring from my 68 ranger and i am bidding on another set. I dont think they have clips.
