re: rear view mirror slipping
Does your mirror bracket have the phillips screws to tighten the two ball pivots or are they the crimped style?
Was looking at your gallery and couldn't tell but did find something interesting and way off topic. Guys, check out the frame rail where the VIN is:

It's way back there like on the 4x4's, do you have another stamping a little farther forward like where the alternator is?

The link won't work. It says no image to display.

re: rear view mirror slipping
As Barry mentioned, if your mirror mount has these screws, you can just tighten them up a bit to fix your problem. Otherwise you'll have to crimp them a bit tighter:

As to the pics of your engine bay, I was more confused about the heater hose routing. The two holes the heater hoses are going through are the ones used with the factory A/C setup. There should have been a couple pipe nipples sticking out of those holes to which those hoses attached. On a non-A/C truck, the two holes directly above that that have the grommets in them would be where the heater core nipples protruded, and where the heater hoses would have connected. I'm just curious what your heater setup in this truck is. What are those two heater hoses connected to?

re: rear view mirror slipping
when they fixed the leaking a/c they said something about needing a new nipple but that they could make the drain hose work...so they could have done anything. ah, that must be a dealer add-on a/c unit...it was not on the build sheet. It looks factory, but my truck was a demonstrator so they probably put in that one because the dealer a/c units are less impressive.
