Proportioning valve question

Which years of dentsides had the proportioning valve mounted to the top of the PS box, and which ones had it bolted to the frame? Did any bumpsides ever use the box mounted valve?

As far as the 5 lug pattern disc brake fronts went, dents from '75 on were mounted on top of the power sterring box. However I have seen a few '73s and '74s like that as well but not too many. Most '73s had the valve inside the frame rail just like the bumps. Most '74s and a few others had it mounted underneath the engine on the cross member.

Forgot to mention: this is for an F250, but I don't know if that matters. So in '75 it was on the box?
Reason I'm asking is that I want to put discs on my '69 F250, but I really don't want to bend the lines, so if I know which dents had the valve on the box, I can just get those lines. Might have to shorten an axle line a bit, though.

look on 73-77s. for them. used lines aren't suppose to be legal by dot regulation though. but that is up to the indivdual. what they do to thier stuff.

If you are (or I am) Changing a truck from drum to disc front and replacing most of the tubing, does it really matter where the proportioning valve is mounted?
