How much should I sell........

Post by mljjones67 »

my 67 power steering auto column? I had a guy call today to see if I had a column. I had not advertised it.
I was wondering what one is worth? The truck had about 88,000 miles and looks to be in good shape.
Thanks for the help

with or without the steering wheel? i would say 100.00 without and depending on the shape of the wheell. cracked add 25.00 to that. its just an asking price. but those are the most wanted columns around.

Is this an automatic steering setup with the Bendix steering gear? I would counter that in that case, its NOT as valuable as a slightly later column that will bolt up to the stronger and better Ford PS box. I don't the above prices are far above reasonable though. The steering wheel actually should be worth more than that, if its good.

I recognise that the buyer has backed out, but someone is always reading these threads.

Read my sig. Slick guys mostly know that they can upgrade to the later coulumn and Ford Box as well.

But ebay prices are often very unpredictable -- there may be someone out there looking for a given item and in a hurry and unwilling to go to pick and pulls or junk yards. If there are two of those "someones" the price can end up amazing.....

i have had slick guys wanting my stuff. that i dont want to even sell. i cant help it they dont know it all. i dont know slicks either but these guys tell me they want it. as well as the bendix boxes to go with them. i just tell them no i am using it. i have been offered this moneyfor the columns. i dont know why. this is where i base my opinion on. i'm sorry if i am wrong about everyone wanting them. the guys that offered me the money seemed to know what they were talking about. maybe they were just money spending fools. one guy had a slick on a trailer when he showed up. he came from illnois to get my parts and that truck. i dont know about him either. he was a real nice guy. his slick was rust free from what i saw of it. he still wanted my column i dont know why. he said he needed it for his other slick. maybe i just lucked onto two different money spenders.

ebay is a totally different story though. you are right about that. it seems i can give it away on ebay. but any place else they will give an arm and a leg. and i was just giving mike a starting price. you can always go down. but you cant always go up.
