Front Suspension Swap

Post by FordTruck »

I've read all the suspension stuff and was wondering if I could take all the front suspension and brake parts from my dads 84 E-100 and put it under my 70 F100 without too many problems and not ALOT of hard work  cause lord knows i'm tired of doing non stop work on that dang truck :o !! So anyways is it some what do able. I want his because it has front disc brakes and a power booster and I figure all this work why not go all out.

No go my friend. You'd have to completley re-design the front end if you did that. I would say that wasn't even an option

Reports are that the steering stuff is on the wrong side of the axles. It would be more trouble than its worth. Get a 73-77 and use it's front axles. Everything is a bolt in.

This is the truth on 67-79 truck the steering is on the back of the i beams, on 80+ trucks (and vans) the steering was moved to the front of the ibeams!!
