Michael from Olympia, WA

Post by IFHP »

My name is Michael MacSems, I live in Olympia, Washington and own a well-preserved 1972 F-100 Custom (302/C4) that I keep garaged and drive on weekends. Back in the Eighties I owned a well-worn 1967 Mercury 100 (300 I-6 w/3-sp). I have pictures of both trucks posted in the Photo Gallery section: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=29310.

My interest in Ford products goes far beyond the Bumpside generation trucks as I consider myself a Ford Motor Company historian with a large collection of Ford books and sales literature from all over the world. I am a moderator at Lovefordsbb.com and am gradually posting bits of my collection there. The link for the 1967-72 Ford F-Series Printed Image Gallery is: http://www.lovefordsbb.com/view_topic.p ... orum_id=24. I have more material to add than what is up right now.

My philosophy is "the more obscure the Ford vehicle the better," which has lead to my interest in South American Fords and other seeming oddities. To get an idea of what I am talking about, here is a You Tube link to a 1998 Argentine Ford Truck TV commercial showing some interesting footage of unique local F-Series variations, including Bumpside trucks with Unibody style tailgates: http://youtube.com/watch?v=i423uzK9k3w&feature=related.

Welcome to the site! :fr:

I'm just a few minutes north of you in Shelton, and while I'm not the historian you are, my love of Fords (these trucks in particular) goes back as long as I can remember, since I was a little boy.

That is one nice, clean F-series you've got there, something you don't see to much of original around these parts anymore.

Welcome from your own time zone! A bit north and an expensive ferry ride away up in the San Juan's. Nice truck you have. Crew cabs fit into the obsure category...Now a crew cab from South America would be rare....and probably very rusty.

Welcome Michael!

We have a member from Brazil, ZOEGA, he might be able to help gather more info on South American Fords. Look up his posts, he posted a ton of pictures of beautiful trucks from down there.

Welcome Michael!!! I work for FOMOCO and i guess I am a bit of a Ford historian myself. In fact My grandfather was the Henry Ford II day shift driver! He Is actually mentioned in one of the books that were written about the Deuce! I'll dig it out if you want to know the name of the book, just let me know! He had a driver at his disposal 24/7!!! My grandfather had some stories i'll tell ya!!!
