Engine tower question

Post by mjhaltom »

My 240 six is gone and my 390 will soon go in. As you can see in the picture, I have also installed a PS box to replace my manual one. When I read the tutorial on installing PS, I noticed it said that the PS box would interfere with the Driver side engine tower. Mine does not.
Do I have to move the engine tower back to install the FE motor?

Yes, for an FE the perch should be mounted in the rear set of holes, which will cause interference with the PS pump, meaning you'll either have to find the correct offset PS perch (preferred), or grind a notch in your existing MS perch.

you can notch your current perch. you just have to cut a small bit of the corner off where it goes under the steering box.
