Black Interior

Post by dbarker »

Hey everyone, im looking for some good pics of black interiors.

Im thinking black and gray inside. Im going with a mid 90s gray cloth bench, and new gray carpet. I just want to see what it looks like, im not sure how much of the interior will end up black/silver.

thanks in advance.

Im painting my truck black, so what were the black trucks interiors like? black dash metal and black seats?

I just figure thats too much black, i know they did this because thats the color scheme of my old 65 mustang.

I just dont think all black will work well.

i wouldnt go ALL black. if you threw a bunch of grey in the interior also then it would probably look pretty darn good though.

Ok this last one helps alot along with the 1st pics.

Im seeing black door panels and seats with steering colums, dashpad and armrests all being black. BUT, these are not on black trucks.

I dug around and finally found a pic of Ladz truck, nice but his whole truck is maroon... then black and gray accents.

Does anyone on here have a black truck to post up, id like to see how the factory did the black doors with a possible black interior so i can figure out where to put my silver to break it up.

Thanks.

Even with a factory black truck, the interiors were VERY rarely all-black. Usually if a truck had a black dash, for example, the seats, carpets and door panels were of a different color. Very few folks ordering these trucks back in the '60s wanted an all-black interior. These were work-trucks, plain and simple, and black was just much harder to keep clean and was also very hot in the summer.

Here's a few pics that will hopefully help...they're the best I can do.

Here's an interior shot of my grandpa's F600. If I go out there this weekend I'll snap some pics of his doors. The whole interior is black but that's rare to find on our trucks not to mention it is uber hot during the summer.

Well well well boys Mine is going to be black and chrome!! black seats carpet door panels dash pad and so on. And my truck is going to be the saddle tan that you never see any more. The other day me and the guy thats painting my truck put the carpet and most of the stuff in just to see how it is going to look. And man it looks really good for having a lot of black. We called the guy ed works for and he has a hot rod shop been doing it for about 49 years now and he came out to look and he is really shocked it looks as good as it does for having lot of black and for being saddle tan. As it is its not easy to find stuff for my truck when its a "explorer special custom" lol. When my truck is done ill let ever one know and take some photos for ever one. One thing is at lest ill be diff from ever one else with saddle tan that you never see any more and a lot of back on the inside :2cents:

I found a black truck with all black interior today lurking the forums.. it never showed on searchs, but i got it today.

Im convinced that this will be the way i end up going, with a touch of gray added in. The heat wont bug me, I drive a black mustang with black leather. Ive had black cars forever, Im used to it. Of course the no a/c is an issue... but thats an easy issue to resolve, just need to replace the old underdash from the dealer with a new system that works.
