Part No - Need Help

Post by RUSTY FORD »

Hi
I have a power steering box and pump from a swap meet and not sure if it will fit my 1970 f-250 which has manual steering.
The number cast into the side of the steering box is

D7TC-3550-BA

Can anyone identify this box and tell me if it will fit?
Thanks

Mike

Yep, if you can keep in mind "c" beginnings on part numbers is "60's" while 2nd digit is year on casting, it'll help at swap meets or yards. So, C5AE for example, 1965. D5AE 1975, E5AE 1985, etc. C is 60's, D is 70's etc if that helps any, 2nd digit year.Banjo.

d7 1977
T truck
c chassis
3500-3700 steering gear
BA is a pretty late revision, if its a 4x4 box its a 78-79 style, 2wd box its a standard ford box. The ford box is too long for you manual column if you truck is 2wd.

thats as far as I get.
68 F100 soon to be on an 80's 4x4 frame and 300-4spd
69 F100 300-4spd
78 F150 300-3spdOD
