Will this setup work? Rim & Tire?

Post by tuff4rd »

Hello guys, looking to get new rims and tires, im new to the F100 world so im not 100% what works. My question is if this size tire will fit my 71? Also if it did, would it look right. I have 275/60/15 on it now.

These are the rims im wanting 18X8 fronts and 18x9.5 backs

And tires are 255/55/18

do you have good clearance now, if you do i thint they might just work.

check this out ,(tire size calculator) put in your current size and the size that your thing about , and it'll give you and idea on what your looking at.

Sure it will fit, just depends on what size tire you want to run. A lower profile tire on a larger diameter rim can have the same outside diameter as the orginal tire size on a 15" rim.
You'll want the 5 on 5 1/2 size bolt circle.

Well since they are going to be custom made, they can be made from..
Rears 17 x 9.5 4.0" to 7.0" BS & Fronts 17 x 8 3.5" to 5.5" BS
I would like the wheels to sit under the wheel wells.
Ok, please tell me how I should order these wheels (offset, backsapace etc..) How would you order them? I need help with this, I need to make sure they will work on the truck.
Thank you very much for your help

for that size rim and tire anything over 3.5 bs may give you problems. i was running 17x8's with 4" bs (275/60-r17) and although they seemed not to rub the inner fender in the rear, after removing them i found they were rubbing. i don't know if it was from turning or what, but they had been rubbing.

4" b/s should be just right as long as you have the stock width rear end....
