Bucket seat conversion ideas
I have my 70 F100 down for some restoration and modes. My question is what has made for a nice bucket seat conversion. My wife purchased an 07 Chevy Tahoe with leather seats. The front buckets and center console are sweet. I would love to convert to a nice bucket seat console setup. Of course I would like it to fit properly and look like it belonged in the truck from the factory, I know I'm probably asking to much. Thanks for the help.

re: Bucket seat conversion ideas
Sorry, forgot to add that removing the in cab fuel tank would be nice also for more room. I haven't seen a company yet that makes a nice fuel tank for converting. I know many have done it but need to know just what you used and how you did it. What it to look clean like a factory job. Thanks again for the help. I'm 6'3" tall and weigh ????? I could use the room and I'll leave it at that.

Another option is to use a factory in-frame auxiliary tank as your primary, which is what I'm doing on my '67.

I'm with ya on that one Keith...
No in cab tank... just the auxillery saddle tank.
Heck, I can't even afford to keep it filled much less both tanks...
One like the Mustang tank would be real pain if you did anything truckish with yer bump.
I'd have to unload my cabover camper just to get gas.
If yer not gonna use yer bump as a truck, why bother?
Heck, even chebbies can look good, provided they don't have to really do anything for a livin'...

Re: re: Bucket seat conversion ideas
This is true. I am thinking about doing this only moving the filler to one side and adding a Door and Tube from a 78-79 F-100. Don't know if I will use the Mustang tank or just make my own.kaptnkaos wrote:I'm with ya on that one Keith...

You're going to be pretty much on your own regarding fitting a pair of buckets...each one's going to be mounted slightly different, and will require custom-made brackets. It's not hard, just takes a little ingenuity.
Just don't do what this guy did. I found this in a U-Pull-It:

Redneck ingenuity at it's worst?

Not bad only it moved your head 5" closer to the Roof, so you realy knew when you hit a bump (in the road, not a truck)

re: Bucket seat conversion ideas
I just had a pair of bucket seats installed in my '71 F250. I bought them from the local pick n pull for $40. Came out of an '86 F250 Extended Cab. Apparently, they are the same seats as found in the Bronco. My welder fabricated the brackets to make them fit. I'm going to put a 15" 4-spoke steering wheel on next. Will make getting into and out of the seat easier.
