Does anyone have pics to compare what it would look like. A crack free new dash pad and then a dash without? I am curious to see what it looks like without. Thanks.

I myself don't think they look right without the dash pad. I've had my truck for 27 years and looking out the window just wouldn't be the same with out the dash pad there. lol

It's not the best of pictures, but it's the only one I have up in my gallery.

I just pulled mine, I'll take a few pic's tonight and post what it looks like without it, I have no way of showing one with a pad, the pad I took out was redone and was really puffy.

I am going to make some "plugs" to fill in the holes for now, then I can add a pad latter if I ever have $400 extra laying around.

The Plugs will be sheetmetal and cut to close tolerance to fit the hole, then I am going to atach a larger peice to the bottom of them and glue them in from the under side of the dash. Then Paint the dash.

My 1 ton didn't have a dash pad in it and it was cooling, but I get one for it and it looks 100% better. Go with a dash pad looks a lot better.

Man I just dont know what to do grrr I like the pad but I like it without it. My plan was to have him weld up the holes and with the vents that come out the top I was going to have him chrome them and just weld them on or whatever. Man this is hard lol

Personally, I think the dash pad makes it look more modern. The all metal dash kinda reminds me of cars from the 50's. Really just depends on personal preference. Look up some users rides in the gallery. I've seen them both ways, or just look on E-Bay for good pics. I've looked at my own truck both ways, and will go with the dash pad. I think it just looks more "finished", for lack of a better word. But that's just my :2cents: .
