front clip

Post by xtremeeric »

from what i have gathered, the mid 80's crown victoria is the best front end swap? is this true or have my facts been distorted? i need to lay out a 72 f100 on air bags, and i will be doing a swap to complete this. a 5.0 HO 302 will be the power plant when completed, any other ideas?

I'm not sure when they changed things, but 88 Crown Vics have 114" wheelbase. The front part of the frame is 37" outside to outside, and 31" inside to inside. The track is about the same as an F100.

I didn't do this, but it would be real easy to weld in rails the correct width for a truck, then cut off the original outer rails.

If you are against doing Mustang II type IFS and good with your hands there are guys who have put in an IFS from Ford Aerostar Vans.

Info at Slick 60's, (like us only just for 61-66 folks) and if you look up album for "Truckfamer" over there PM him I'm pretty sure he's done it.
