lowering with beams and coils...

Post by layedout72 »

how low can you go when it comes down to it on this stock front end? I may go mustang II but, just how low can you go? Im thinkin the drop beams and a 3 inch drop coil, and then flippin he rear and it should level things out and be plenty low for a nice look, took a little tire hopefully. Will this be too low in respect to camber and all this? I can have a little, couple degrees but I don't want it to contribute to tire wear toooo much.

maximum with a stock setup is approx. 5 inches you get 3 with drop beams and 2 with shorter coils without affecting camber. flipping the hanger in the rear gives you about 4 and shackles give you another two so you can get a 5/6 drop on stock-type suspension.

Yeah I think it's bagged on all fours.
You can lay doors on I beams if you Z the frame and rework your body mounts and frame.

I also have a question about lowering:

I have an F250 with a 78 front end, discs and all. I want to use the DJM, but I am having a hard time finding a kit for an F250, they only list it as a f100. So is there a difference? Anybody know the right kit #, or right beam #;s?
When the going gets tough, your doing something right.

they should be the same, just get the ones for the 78 to match your kingpins/spindles :2cents:

Djm beams w/2" coils, flip kit with c notch in the rear, front is about as low as you can go without major mods, had to cut the bump stops almost completely off in the front :2cents:

I've got the same issue, though I'm not looking for as drastic a change as some of you.

I want to know what the easiest way is to lower my front end a little? I don't carry a load often and the excess camber is wearing the outer edges of my front tires.

If I could just get it to squat a few inches that might help. How else can I adjust the camber?

Thanks

you could cut your springs, start with a half coil, that should help your positive camber problem
