Wheelbase question

Post by snake »

I'm assuming that the stepside shortbed and styleside shortbed are interchangeable..... so all short wheelbase trucks have the same wheel base and mounting locations?

In other words, will a styleside short bed bolt right on a truck that originally was a stepside shortbed???

thanks

Yes, all SWB trucks (flareside and styleside) have the same wheelbase, and the beds are fully interchangeable, with the same mounting points. The same holds true for LWB trucks.

The only exception is some trucks that came factory-equipped with a 9-ft. flareside box....I can't remember off the top of my head if they had a longer wheelbase or just a longer overhang off the end of the frame, but I'm pretty sure they did have a slightly longer wheelbase.
