What is this?
We have a 1968 F100 with a 360. We are in the process of saving this truck from the pasture. My wife and I have always been around old Chevy's so the ford thing is really backwards to us. This truck has sat for 5 years being used as a dumpster/squirrel brothel. Since September my wife and I have been cleaning, tracing wires and finally this past weekend were able to get it running. I'm attaching a picture of this crazy fitting between the oil filter and oil pressure sensor. This fitting has a small, clear tube that promptly spilled all of the oil in the motor onto the ground. We drained the old oil and put on a new filter before we cranked it the first time. The only positive so for I guess is that the oil pouring out sure was clean, no sludge. Any idea what this is and what it's purpose is?

That is a tap for a mechanical oil pressure gauge ...

Re: What is this?
So I an remove it and put the oil sensor straight into the base the oil filter screws into?
