I think the answer is "no," because I've never seen this discussed. I have seen on the 'net that some engines use washers under the head bolts, because it affects correct torque, and prevents the bolt head from digging into the surface of the engine head, so I gotta ask. Do the Ford FE heads require washers under the head bolts? The bolts themselves have a washer surface cast into the bolt head already, so it provides a round, flat surface to the top of the head. Any engine rebuilders know for sure? If so, anyone know the correct part number, or what I should look for at McMaster?
