CV swap questions

I have 69 f100 without power steering or brakes. I'm wanting to have the CV swap done on my truck. I can't afford to just take it to a shop and say do it and let me know how much I owe you. I'll have to accumulate the needed parts over time then have it completed. I don't feel this is something I can do on my own. I don't weld and I just feel better about having someone else do it. Is there anywhere I can get a list of parts needed for this swap. I live in southeast Tennessee. Do any of you guys know of a shop in the Knoxville or Chattanooga area to do a swap.

Do you have enough mechanical skills to strip the frame and lay things out? I don't think there's a lot of welding involved and what there is can be done by a mobile welder fairly inexpensively. Check out the many threads in the project forum that have done it, it might surprise you how easy it is.

I guess I'm afraid I'll screw something up and it'll cost even more to fix it. I'm probably looking to deep into it. If I could get a list of everything I need I might try it. I wish someone made a kit or at least motor mounts.

There is a guy on Ebay that sells a set of brackets for lack of a better term. But what he's selling isn't really worth the price from what I can see. I'm going to repeat what I said about checking out the many build posts in the project update forum to get a excellent overview of what's involved. When you start take it slow, don't be afraid to ask questions while you're working on it. Most of the people here are willing and even eager to help. Motor mounts and the trailing arm brackets seem to be the major hurdles from what I've read but there are a lot of these conversions on the road so they're not insurmountable. As far as parts go, I think getting the CV front assembly takes care of most of it.

Thanks. So can I get the power steering pump and brake booster off the crown vic or will I need a different ones? I think I read somewhere I would need a different steering column also.

You can use the stock steering column but it will need to be modified. See Coupe5oh's build (way to go Coupe!), about half way down this page. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 3&start=90

Thanks I'll research that steering column more. I'm just collecting parts right now and don't know what I need and what I don't. I wish my truck would end up like that one.

Can I just buy everything aftermarket? Steering column, pedal assembly, master cylinder? On another subject. Can I buy aftermarket clutch pedal assembly and hydraulic clutch master cylinder? I'm switching to m5r2 5 speed transmission in the future.
