Locking lug nut help

Post by Bsauls »

Hi all,

I recently bought a 1970 F100 and found the lugs on all wheels are locking lugs and there is no key. The owner passed away and his daughter was the one to sell the truck to me. I can't seem to find who manufactured the lugs to get a key and since all lugs are locking that is a ton of pounding 12pt sockets to get the wheels off. Does anyone recognize this brand of lug nut?

Welcome to the forums. :wel: When I worked at a tire shop when I was younger we always had folks coming in with a locking lug nut set, one on each wheel and had no idea they even had them or where the key was. I bought this set here and it always got the locking nuts off. This may help you get those off. It will be nearly impossible to figure out who manufactured your lug nuts or get the right key.

Thanks for the info! Much better than ruining several sockets and killing my weekend.

count me a s a lunatic. I wanted a lock on each wheel but I am running with just beauty rings, black wheels and chrome lug nuts. Well none of the locking nuts match the chrome nuts and I wanted all 5 alike...soooooo.....I have 5 locking nuts on each wheel. All the same so only one socket to get them on and off and they look very nice. And good luck getting my Michelins off of there!
