Hey all
I would like to replace the brakes all around on my 68 F250 4X4 and it has the following;
Front: Dana 44 6CFH (12Bolt Knuckle Seal) Axle.
Rear: Dana 70.
Drums front and rear and I'm ok with that as I want it to look stock.
I have looked at the local auto stores and I have been coming up with some confusing choices. The show two different fronts and have the correct brake size listed as 12.125 x 2 but not what axle it fits. The rears I got a number of the ones currently on the truck a matched it to a Pronto number saying it uses 12 x 3 brakes so I think I'm good with those.
The next task is parking brake cables but no one shows those and the only ones I ever see listed is from LMC and they are for the 2WD. What the difference?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
CStoyer

Are you sure your rear is a Dana 70? Factory should be a DANA 60.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I located the stamp on the housing and its a D70. The rear spring pack also has the auxiliary springs with stops riveted to the frame so I think it is OE. Unless someone went thru a lot of trouble to cold rivet the stops and install a D70 in place of the OE Axle. Frame Rail Stamp is F26YECxxxxx
