Probably been brought up several times, But;
Has anyone installed an over or under drive between the transmission and transfer case?
Mounted rigid?
Riding on the drive shaft?
Seems like the shaft is too short to mount it rigid.
I guess it could be mounted on the transmission.
How about something like this

Over/under drive

Over/under drive
Due to the high cost of ammunition, you can no longer expect a warning shot.
When someone was beating on my door hollering "Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms", I naturally assumed it was a delivery.

Re: Over/under drive
I mounted a NP203 range box as an under drive to the front of my NP205 using the ORD 203/205 doubler kit and am quite happy with it.
You need to convert the divorced input of the 205 to the married configuration for the adapter to work but that is easy for any machine shop to do I would think 4 or 5 hours labor should be more than enough to get it done. here is a link to my photobucket folder of the rebuild/conversion http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/eggma ... t=2&page=1

Re: Over/under drive
WOW!
I doubt I have the skills or patients for that kind of work, but It looks like fun to build.
I am looking for a "bolt on".

Re: Over/under drive
Hi,
Last winter I installed a Ranger Torque splitter into my 1970 Highboy.
It's alot of work but if you are handy with tools it can be done by the "shade tree mechanic".
There is a good write up on this site with pictures that I used as a reference.
BTW: You do end up with a really short driveshaft between tranny and TC.
Also, as I read of many forums concern'un the Ranger it is LOUD in overdrive. It "whins". This dosen't bother me to much as my mud tires are loud anyway.
